Within the Project “Biodiversity and Water Protection Lake Palic and Lake Ludas” (ECOLACUS), the PR team and about a hundred children aged 3-6 from Subotica preschool “Our Joys” will celebrate the World Water / Planet Earth Day through a series of activities between March 22nd and April 22nd, 2021.
On the occasion of World Water Day, on March 22, the activities will, symbolically, begin with the Presentation of the Eco-fairy tale for children “Water and City, by Dr Ana Markovic. In the following week, educators will organize a quiz with children. The questions will be related to the general importance of water, its rational use, about Subotica waterworks, the town and lakes Palic and Ludas.
After that, at the beginning of April, the children will be presented with the “ECOLACUS” project. They will be able to find out in an appropriate way how and when the Subotica lakes were formed, but also what are the protected species of flora and fauna in and around the lakes, and what are people doing to protect and harmonize the relationship of man and nature.
Eco-chat rooms will be organized until April 22nd . All the interesting answers of children to the questions about this project will be recorded according to the “kefalica” show principle.
The children will then actively participate in creative workshops. They will “prove” with their drawings what they have learned about water and the lakes of Subotica.
The finale of the project will be symbolically celebrated on the occasion of World Earth Day, on April 22, with an exhibition of works and the most interesting “kefalica” answers of children and the awarding of appropriate prizes in “Our Joy” preschool.
Due to the pandemic of the COVID-19 virus, we will not be able to organize this activity together with the competition of children and their parents in fishing and cooking fish stew from a cauldron in the Visitor Center near Lake Ludas.
