PUC Subotica ” Vodovod i kanalizacija ” in cooperation with the ECOLACUS Project PR team and “Nasa radost” preschool won the first prize for the “Eco- fairy tale for the XXIst century – WATER and CITY” in the video material category at the last International WEP Effect Festival in Rogaska Slatina.

The international WEP Effect 2021 festival took place on the topic of “Education on water protection, water resources and sustainable communication with the public”. The festival, which was organized by the Water Agency, was held under the honorary patronage of Borut Pahor, the President of the Republic of Slovenia.

Representatives of utility companies, organizations and institutions from six countries with 74 educational projects, classified into four categories, participated in this festival, which was realized online due to the situation caused by the Sars COVID-19 virus pandemic.

Eminent personalities of the international jury evaluated the received projects according to six criteria and decided to award the first places to:

  • “HRVATSKE VODEfor the water manual with experiments for lower and upper primary school classes

  • PUC “VODOVOD I KANALIZACIJA” SUBOTICA in cooperation with the ECOLACUS Project PR team and PU “Nasa radost” for “Eco-fairy tale for children and adults for the XXIst century – WATER and CITY”, the author being Dr. Ana Markovic Plestovic, with an interactive application on the occasion of World Water Day and planet Earth.

  • “DASKA” THEATER FROM SISAK for the interactive educational play “WATER is LIFE”

  • MUNICIPALITY OF MEDULIN for the picture book “Sea Adventures of a Jure” and

  • ASSOCIATION “STUP” for the presentation of “The importance of preserving drinking water” with photographs and water analyzes in 18 surrounding sources.

The awarded works were presented at the festival. The project of Subotica was presented by Petar Doroslovacki on behalf of the ECOLACUS PR team and PUC “Vodovod i kanalizacija“.

The award ceremony will take place at the premises of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Ljubljana on November 19th, 2021.
