The City of Subotica and PUC “Vodovod i kanalizacija“ Subotica, being the investors, are organizing the commencement of the works on the construction of the sewage network in Palić starting on Monday, August 26th, 2019. The construction company “Graditelj NS” from Novi Sad was the most favorable contractor based on a public competition. They will build 15 kilometers of gravity sewage network in this settlement in the next eight months, and also five kilometers of transit pressure sewage line, which will transport the collected waste water from this settlement to the collector basin VII and the wastewater treat plant of town.
These investments within the larger project “Biodiversity and Water Prptection Lake Palic and Lake Ludas“ are funded by donations from the Government of the Republic of Germany through the KfW Bank, in cooperation with the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of RS.
In the initial phase, five teams of the Contractor will commence sewage construction works in the following parts of the streets on Monday, and it will last until:
- Kozaračka St., until August 31st, 2019
- Nikola Tesla St., until September 7th, 2019
- Partizanska St., until September 10th, 2019
- Jasenovačka St., until September 10th, 2019
- Jezerska St., until September 15th 2019
- Sutjeska St., until September 25th, 2019
- Marko Oresković St. at the intersection with Lopudska St., until September 25th, 2019
Traffic will be suspended in the aforementioned parts of the streets during the construction i.e. traffic will be redirected to the nearby streets.
After the completion of this stage of works, the sewage construction works will continue in other parts of Palić settlement, in accordance with the project documentation and the schedule of construction works.
The contractor, the construction company “Graditelj NS” Novi Sad will put all their efforts into executing these works in the shortest possible time in order to put the traffic, and living and working conditions of citizens back to normal as well as the operation of the institutions and businesses located on the construction works route.
The total value of the Project is € 6,500,000.
Out of the investment structure, 67% of the funds are designated for the construction of the sewage network of the Palić settlement and an interconnecting pressure sewage line, which will connect the future network to the wastewater treatment plant, while 23.8% is designated for the construction of a buffer zone around the Palic and Ludas lakes (greening, construction of the inspection and bicycle paths), and 6.2% is designated for the improvement of the Palic wastewater treatment plant, and finally 3% for biomanipulation, i.e. fishing of allochthonous fish species (invasive species that do not naturally belong to the ecosystem of the Palic and Ludas lakes).
We estimate that it will be possible to conclude contracts for the first household connections to the sewerage network, in the Public Utility Company “Vodovod i kanalizacija” Subotica early next year.
The price for a single connection is 27,021.38 RSD. A 20% discount is granted for the full payments in advance. Payment is also possible in 24 installments.
